Come on in and Cozy up… It’s a cold dreary day here with pending snow.  I have the fire turned on, and I am snuggled up in my favorite chair while the kiddos are logged onto virtual school.  As I am sitting here, I can’t help but admire our mantel. I have swapped the mantel around a few times since moving into our home, and it never really felt right.  Our old home didn’t have a fireplace with a mantel, and it seems so trivial, but I always dreamed of having a mantel I could design for each season and holiday.  I was inspired after we painted the living room to move some things around and give our mantel a mini makeover.  I was going for a simple, classic, but fun vibe.  I decided to hang an old window we have had as the focal point of our mantel. I hung a magnolia wreath on the window to give it a little charm with the cutest blue striped ribbon.  If you know me, you know I love ribbon and bows (probably stems from my old cheerleading days).  I have been eyeing these valentine prints from Etsy that I printed at Walgreens. You can find the heart print, and the love print here. I bought frames from Target and BOOM! She’s a beaut!  I love the simplicity of this setup.  I love the versatility that it offers to our family room that I can change things up with each season, holiday, or whatever tickles my fancy.  It looks classic, but fun, and brings so much light into this room that we are loving.  When my kids start complimenting on “home décor things” I take that as win.  Here is a peak into our sometimes messy (pillow on the floors), but pretty mantel home.
