When the bones are good the rest don’t matter (Maren Morris nailed it in this jam) … Hive to Haven has always been about building a home you love from good bones. Not just the bones that keep your home from crumbling, or the solid wood antique dining room table that can be passed down from generation to generation, but the bones you are building your home and your family with such as values, traditions and of course all the love and memories. The kind of bones that keep a family grounded. Having family dinners around the dinner table has always been important to us. It keeps us grounded in the craziest of seasons…Sharing the highs and lows of each day, learning, loving, and laughing our way through a dinner is something I will always cherish. This room was inspired by a table, a table that turned into a rug, and a rug that turned into the prettiest mini gallery wall. This room gives you a peek into our story, it is a collection of the things that tell our story and things we love, and I am excited to share how this little room came together.
Paint color- Requisite Gray Sherwin Williams (Its hard to find a good gray, and I love the warmth of this gray
Dining room table– found at my favorite little localish market – at chartreuse and co.
(it’s an antique table, that will eventually need to be refinished but was love at first sight. I wish I knew how old it was, I wish I knew where it originated from, but I like to imagine it came from a quaint little European cottage).
Dining room chairs- They actually came with the table. They were originally silver, and I spray painted them black to go with our other furn
Rug– purchased from overstock (It’s so pretty, & completely transformed this little space into a cozy dining room)
Light- (purchased at Kirkland’s for less than 100 dollars, Yall I fell in love with the simplicity of this light)
Picture- purchased at Hobby lobby

Island this was given to us from me in laws. They bought it several years ago to go into their Northern VA home, and didn’t have room for it in their new home and I am forever grateful they chose this beaut of a piece to be ours. I would love to actually use it for an island one day, but for now its nestled into its home (it’s given us a few extra drawers of storage for spices, cloth napkins and such, I like to keep it simple with a bowl of fruit
(not pictured this island has also turned into our puzzle assembling spot & we love it)
Curtains– Amazon (I have struggle with amazon nothing better than buying something in person, but you can find the most amazing things on amazon at amazing prices, and you can’t beat the fastest shipping ever, its growing on me)
White mini Buffet- this was a marketplace find (I knew I wanted a piece just like this to go here when we moved in, and I thankfully found this pretty little piece at the perfect time.

Picture over buffet- home goods find. I really have always struggled with wall décor. I have always had a hard time putting random pictures of things in our home that do not define us, and although I don’t really have a cool story for this piece, I just love it and its simplicity.
Gallery Wall- I saved the best for last. The blue flowered picture the one farthest to the right is a rifle paper find. When I found it, I knew it would go perfectly with the rug and tie this room together. Middle bottom I painted this, and I am proud of it. Very easy to do, I have seen similar prints on etsy, target, anthropology that it was inspired from. The top picture- I’m not one to have random pictures of animals around the house these cows are from our Wedding Venue at Fearrington village look it up it’s the quaintest little village nestled outside of Chapel Hill, NC. Its so hard to find pictures of our wedding venue, so I took a post card and put it in a pretty frame. Lastly, my friend’s daughter painted us a picture of our barn the barn we had our reception in. Ya’ll she is amazing, and she is only 15. I wish I could give her all the love, but she doesn’t have social media, but if you would like to order something from her, I am happy to get you in contact with her momma.

I hope this encourages you, that you can have a pretty home. Even if its’ not your dream home, or renovation isn’t in the budget. Inspiration can come from anywhere, find it and run with it and turn it into a room you love. Now come on in we saved you a seat.
Bee lovely, Bee kind, Bee the light
Erin-XOXO
